Periodontal (gum) Treatment

Gum disease affects a vast majority of the public and is treatable by regular visits to your dentist for specific periodontal therapies.

Although gum disease can often show few or no symptoms, watch for gums that are red and irritated, or gums that bleed easily.

Persistent bad breath is another sign of gum disease and you should see your dentist for more information on symptoms and treatment options.

Current studies suggest that there may be a link between periodontal (gum) disease, heart disease, and other health conditions. In fact, research suggests that gum disease may be a more serious risk factor for heart disease than hypertension, smoking, cholesterol, gender, and age.

Patient Testimonial

"My sister told me about a great dentist, Dr. Dean Powell. When I first met him, my gums were bleeding. Dr. Powell told me what he would recommend and I followed his advice. Dr. Powell would call me after treatment to make sure I was all right. If it had not been for Dr. Powell, I would have lost my teeth. To Dr. Powell and his staff: Thanks for giving me a great smile!"
